Our campaigns to demand for accountability from the duty bearers and demand for systems change in Uganda.

Not Forgotten (Stop Police Brutality)

In awake of the growing dissenting voices, the system has used excessive force to silence these voices that has resulted into arbitrary and brutal arrests of activists including young people, women and students. Resulting from the violence of the police, we have witnessed gross violations of human rights that have included depriving innocent people of their right to live, enforced disappearances and abductions.

As Freedom Movement Uganda, we join in the rest of individuals and groups of individuals to demand; justice of the victims of this brutality, change in policing and holding the perpetrators accountable.

Our campaign focuses at;

Mapping out cases of police brutality

Tracking incidents of police violence

Reach out to the victims

Organizing nonviolent actions to demand accountability, justice, and change in policing.

Cut the Cost of living

Despite our daily struggles to earn a living, many young are unable to afford the cost of living. The cost of living is so high that several young people can’t even afford or have access to basic necessities like descent shelter, food, clothes, and education among others.

Many of us can’t afford the cost of living despite our daily struggles to earn a living. The system doesn’t care about our well-being rather exploit our hard work through imposing of hefty taxes onto basic necessities and its negligence to implement a reasonable minimum wage.

The system exploits us to accumulate wealth for sustaining their luxurious lives. This has left so many young people suffering in silence which has led to depression, anxiety and hopelessness. To redefine our destiny as a generation we have a duty to demand the regime to drop the exorbitant taxes, implement a reasonable minimum wage to protect people from exploitation and take its responsibility of ensuring that all citizens have access to basic necessities.
